3500 schodów, 20 metrów głęboka, zbudowana w XI wieku zachwyca swoja architekturą i geometrią.Schody te nazywane są baori i otaczają studnie z trzech stron, z czwartej znajdują się balkony, piękne okna oraz filary.
Różnica temperatur pomiędzy górą a dołem wynosi około 5-6 stopni?, w okresach gdy upalnych, było to miejsce spotkań tamtejszej społeczności.Była tam również części przeznaczona dla królewskiej rodziny.

CHAND BAWARI – A BOTTOMLESS WELL??
Abhaneri, a small village in Rajasthan, 95 km from Jaipur. Just take a detour on the way to Agra and you will find the incredible step well of Chand Bawari. It’s not easy to find but…it’s worth it☝️.
Built in the 9th Century, 3,500 steps high, 20 m deep, with its architecture and geometry that takes your breath away. The well steps, also called baori, lead down to the water and surround the well from three sides. On the forth side there are windows, a balcony and beautiful pillars.
The temperature down there is lower then on the ground, the difference is about 5-6 degrees?. During the periods of high temperatures, the local people would meet there. There is even a part for the royal family.
Rajasthan is the driest part of India. During the monsoon season, this well collected rain water for the whole year. The step well was constructed from a special dark volcanic stone, which, even outside the monsoon season, enables the water to be collected from the edges under ground.
